Angie E
Counseling Intern
I am passionate about walking alongside individuals and couples as they pursue healing, growth, and renewed hope. I work with clients of all ages and specialize in treating trauma/PTSD, grief, anxiety, and depression.
I am in the process of applying for my status as a Licensed Resident Counselor with the State of Virginia Counseling Board. I have completed my MA in Counseling degree, which included a robust internship experience.
My clinical approach is grounded in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based model that helps clients understand how trauma impacts thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical tools for resilience and long-term healing. I strive to provide a supportive, empathetic, and compassionate environment where clients feel safe to process difficult experiences at their own pace.
In addition to my work with individuals, I am trained in SYMBIS Assessment and enjoy working with couples at all stages of their relationship. I enjoy helping partners strengthen communication, deepen understanding, and navigate challenges with intentionality and care.
I also deeply value spiritual integration in counseling when desired by the client and welcome conversations about faith as a meaningful part of the healing process.
I am honored to support clients as they move toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional well-being.
